While the F Dick Superior 9 in. carver can be used as you would any slicer, it is particularly well suited as a ham knife. There are serrations near the handle to targe tany tough areas or gristle that you may encounter. It also has a good amount of flex to navigate around bones. A very multifunctional slicer that also works well for skinning and filleting fish. Particularly flat species like halibut, sole and flounder.
