Benriner mandolines are for easy hand slicing of varying thicknesses. The Standard and Super models come with three additional blades for cutting strips from matchstick to french fries. The Jumbo model does not. These are a must for au-gratin potatoes and dishes requiring a lot of thin cuts. Benriners are extremely popular with Chefs because they are light, razor sharp, and one of the only mandolines that has a finger screw which is tightened to lock in the blade depth. Other types tend to gradually slice larger pieces as you use them. Replacement blades are available.
