Ken Onion Rain Series knives are very new to the market and made in the USA with American Steel at the Lamson Sharp factory in Massachussetts. A lot of thought was put into the design of each piece and there are shapes like the "santility" and "reverse parer" that you will not find anywhere else. The name Rain Series is derived from the unique patterning on the surface of the blade that is designed to keep starchy foods like potatoes from clinging. The signature Ken Onion handles are made from garolite, which is a very tough, smooth material that will not shrink, swell, crack or absorb moisture. Designed to compete with the craftsmanship of a Japanese knife, the blade strength and quality of materials chosen for this line of knives is exceptional and unique. We have had many requests for the Ken Onion knife shapes that are no longer available from Shun and we are excited to be able to offer and promote these knives as an exceptional product made here at home.
